MRT 1985 M1907 Sling ?
Does anyone know if this is a real USGI sling? The rivets look different than any that I have seen, but then, I have never seen one dated 1985 either.
Thanks, Greg V

I can't answer your question, but that's a nice looking sling. Was it commercially available or is that a one-off acquisition?
Thanks.

No, this is the only one that I have seen. I have seen a lot of commercially available slings that look very similar, but they are usually unmarked or just MRT marked with no date.

It is GI. The government purchased many small lots each year, to supply/support the National Match shooters.

Bill: I thought Turner was selling slings to the Army and Marines? Correct?

Probably today, but back then I think it was a different company. I will not reveal the name because I cannot confirm it.

MRT isn't a brand is it? I thought I'd read that it was a mold treatment.

Yes, you are correct. MRT is Mildew Resistant Treated.
