Question on Ithaca M1911 A1 Pistols...

What magazine manufacturer(s) was/were predominently used by Ithaca for its World War II M1911 A1 production? Are there specific identifying marks? Many thanks in advance for any help or information. Best regards, KarlKW

Yes, Ithaca had three different magazines that were used. "R" marked for Risdon, "S" for Scoville and "L" for M.S. Little. All three were marked on top of the toe with the one letter designation.

The same manufacturers supplied magazines to Colt, but in addition to the R, S, or L on the top of the toe they will have C-R, C-S, or C-L on the bottom of the toe.
