    What kind of rifle is this?

    Saw this photo in the paper today of a Frenchicon police officer carrying a rifle. What kind of rifle does he have? It caught my eye because of the wood stock which you do not see much if these daysAttachment 59257

    Looks like a Ruger Mini 14 or as sold to Franceicon a special variation of the AC 556 could also be chambered for 222 Rem or 223 Rem

    In Franceicon they call it "le Mousqueton AMD 5,56mm" It is used by the CRS (Riot Police) and prison guards.

    Used quite a lot by what were the Royal Ulster Constabulary, now Police Service of Northern Ireland up until the late 90's. Great light little rifle with little recoil. Sights are fixed, sold two DEAC's recently in chrome finish ex RUC
