Rule 1; Always buy the BIGGEST gun safe that you can afford
Hope this helps.
I have received gun stocks in the post from international sellers without completing any paper work and have never had a problem doing so, however before I spent a large wad of cash on a dream piece of walnut I would recommend contacting Customs and completing any paperwork necessary. I have an all matching 1909 BSA and the markings on the nosecap are the serial No, broad arrow and a crown over the the No 24 over a capital B.
Cheers

Numrich, great fast service. Woodwork seems to be a hit and miss, second hand stuff can be wanting and their unissued stuff or re-made stuff is fine, might need a little final shaping.
PM me if you want more info. What woodwork are you after.

Have had good experiences with Numrich, haven't used them for a year but will do so shortly. I think they're one of the very few who still export. I recommend their wood sets.

A full set of No1 Mk3 wood. The pc doesn't really show it but the buttstock has had the bejeezus sanded out of it, so much that the recess for the sling swivel has been sanded away completely.
I dont mind repairing/cleaning/refurbing wood, the last Lithgow (which incidently, makes her first trip to the range in the morning) was in bloody terrble shape, but enough steam, glue and linseed oil fixed her up and it looks awesome but still has a rustic look.
besides that, i need some screws etc, so numrich seems to be the go.

Why not ask Brian at BDL Ltd in SC to select a set and send it to you. I expect his price will be comparable to anyone else and he seems to get good feedback on this site

Concur with Peter, Numrich can be sometimes unpredictable with color matching on the wood sets, as well as occassionaly sending No4 wood instead of No1. Couldn't hurt to ask BDL and he may not have the $100 limit that Numrich do.

On an aside, I came across a New Zealand-marked 1942 Long Branch today with matching receiver, bolt and forend and all the parts were LB stamped, except the magazine, which was from a No.1 Mk.III - I almost cried. They wanted $500 US for it - I don't think so, Tim.

One question - I have noted 1 NZ-marked Long Branch No.4 Mk.1*, but instead of the NZ stamp on the buttsocket, the NZ mark and NZ serial number was electropenciled on the top of the receiver (the NZ serial number matched on the receiver, bolt and magazine). Any ideas as to why this might be?
