The action fits perfectly down onto the recoil lug bolt up front. The action screws are snugged up tight. Will that gap cause any problems or will the recoil lug be able to handle recoil energy just fine? I suppose I could slip a small wood shim down in between stock and rear of receiver But if it isn’t a worry I will let it be.
You want the recoil lug in the inletting to do all the work. A gap is GOOD behind the action, preventing cracks/chips in that location. Too much gap is better than contact.
