    Unissued GI stock markings?

Hey fellas I just purchased an "unissued" G.I. A3 straight stock from Numrich that I'm using for a rebuild. It's my first 1903. My question is what cartouches, markings etc. should come on an NOS or unissued stock. It has a faint FJA on the upper left grip, a circle P under the grip, various geometric shapes in front of the front trigger guard screw, and a B in the barrel channel. No marking on the end of the stock, or in the cutoff notch. Was this stock on a rifle before, or is it in fact unissued? Seems to be an awful lot of markings for a new stock. Thanks for your replies.

unissued stocks will have no markings, and not be drilled for the bayonet lug.

Well that's unfortunate. Stock, Straight Grip, Unissued Gun Parts | 917730 | Numrich Gun Parts I'm guessing they sent me a used one by mistake. It is in pretty nice condition though but back it goes. Thanks Chuck!

they will charge you a restocking return fee, and say they never said it was new, or unissued, never had them admit error, been here before with them.
for the record, a marked A3 stock has much more value if nice then a new unissued umarked stock

Maybe it's not as nice as I originally thought. It seems to be cracked nearly all the way through on the inner face of the rear recoil lug, and the action sits pretty low in it and a bit cockeyed. Thanks for the heads up on the customer service. I'll post the outcome.

I returned the stock to Numrich nearly a week and a half ago and the replacement just arrived. They sent me another used one they sanded. The end is cracked badly over the upper band screw hole. The stock is the recoil pin type and it is cracked through near both of them inside the lug area. This one is going back today for a refund. Last time I do business with these clowns.
