    1895 Chilean Mauser

    Picked this old rifle up recently. Very nice condition, I'm thinking unissued. All matching but missing the numbered cleaning rod. Note the Star of David below the serial number on the stock. Ludwig Loewe was a Germanicon Jew and marked his rifles this way. Quality is simply outstanding!!

    My very first rifle I ever bought which started me out collecting Mausers was an 1895 Chileanicon....

    I like it a lot. I looked at the slideshow of yours, Doug. Mine is peppered with tiny numbers and symbols as well, many hardly visible. Any idea what the double S represents on the floorplate of my rifle? Stamps are under the finish so it is factory maybe inspectors intials?
