    I am a member, but the latest articles about Inland were later manufactured rifles, not early, unless I missed it, could you fill me in? I just rejoined last month...Sorry..Andy

    The Saginaw Steering Gear subcontract receivers were numbered beginning with 700000 through 850000 in the first block and were made around the same time as the Inland-made receivers in the 260000 through 999999 range. So there were two serial number ranges being assembled concurently -- that's why a 700k SG-marked receiver can have an earlier barrel date than a 550k Inland-made receiver.

    The article referred to earlier is in the the March 2008 Carbine Club Newsletter #346, if you have it.
