    Help with Lee Metford

I recently acquired a Lee Metford ( No 1 Mk II*) rifle. It was a DP rifle in the past and the firing pin was cut, bolt face was damaged and extractor assembly removed. Also the magazine appears to be from a more modern model.
does anyone know of a source for replacement parts?

You know it would be such a help if EVERYONE posted what country they live in. With todays crazy regulations on mailing/importing/exporting of guns/parts it would be much easier to help everyone who needs anything if they would list their country in their profile.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I am a bit confused. A No.1 Mk.II* is not a Lee Metford, it is a Lee Enfield, though it could have been converted from a Lee Metford Mk.II or II*. Is your rifle in short or long configuration?

Why was it made a DP rifle ?

If you dont know then is it safe to 'Un-DP' it ?
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
