What Serial Range Is This HP Barrel For?

    Attachment 33591Attachment 33590Attachment 33591Attachment 33590

Picked up this nice condition HP barrel and unsure what serial range it is for. First one I've seen with a small G and and unside down K.

    Thanks for the input!

    Thanks Scott,

First time I had ever seen a small G on an interlaced HP barrel before not to mentioned that upside down K. Have you ever seend this type barrel before?
I know what the G stand for but want does the K refer to, a inspector marking? Sorry but I'm learning.

Both markings on M1911 barrels are simply production markings. The G and K on this barrel are markings that were assigned to someone doing a step of production or in-house inspection.

When it comes to M1911A1 barrels, the small and large G indicates the barrel was made to satisfy a Government contract. But on the earlier M1911 barrels, that wasn't the case.
