A Long Lee preferably with an Enfield barrel as it would fill the hole in my collection between the Martini and my No1 Mk III.
I do have a rare one a 1941 No4 Mk1 (no *) Longbranch with a 41 dated barrel and the button cocking piece, all matching and near mint. Does not have the hinged band but not all the early ones did.
When I bought it neither I or the seller knew it was special just a generic No4 Enfield.

Just remembered, a No1 Mk3 with anti-aircraft bars on the rear sight, like the Arisakas. Saw one at the Pattern room in Leeds before they moved it.

    My favorite Enfield

My favorite out of my 10 Enfields is a BSA-Shirley 1944 #4Mk1T. When I bought it, it had never been fitted with a scope, and it had the H&H-installed pads on the left side of the receiver. I ordered a newly-made repro No.32 scope from Numrch at the NRA convention in Pittsburgh last year, and after all these years the rifle finally had a scope on it. I had previously found a repro. scope mount from Sportsman's Guide mailorder firm about 6 or 7 years ago. Everything fit perfectly-I wish the scope and mount were original, but I really can't justify the big $ outlay for the original scope/mount. I paid $150 for the rifle from a coworker who inherited it; the repro mount was $85; the repro No.32 scope was $500. I'm happy and the old girl can shoot better than I can hold...

    Hi
I am new to this forum.

I think my holy grail is one of the very few Savage made No.4 (T) sniper rifles. I have a friend who has one and I am always quite envious when he gets it out to play.

Hi, this is my first post as I just signed up today for this forum. It looks like there is much well researched information regarding Lee Enfields from many advanced collectors and shooters. I only have one (although I've had a few in years past) right now, an Ishapore 2A1. My Enfield Holy Grail is finding a proper rear aperture sight such as a Parker Hale 5A, or TZ type assembly to make a replica target rifle. Any advice regarding correct or adaptable rear sights would be greatly appreciated!

Mine would be a wrapped No 4. Mk2 from the so called Irish contract series of rifles.

Hello all, been a while since I've posted in here.

I'd have to say my Enfield Holy Grail is between an 1896 Long Lee mkI or a 1904 BSA complete with volley sights.

If I saw either of these at a show, they'd have to be seriously overpriced, or in truly appalling condition to keep me from buying it
