Not everything you need, but one of mine is s/n 3243XXX. It has a C on the left side of the receiver and the barrel is an Underwood stamped 8-43 with the ordnance bomb. Others might be able to help with the receiver date. - Bob

    gunsdora,
Is the shoulder where your receivers locator/tooling hole is... Rounded or Squared edged?
I think you'd have the Receiver Type B, variation 1 (rounded). Used early in the first and 2nd serial number blocks.
2nd block... 3,21 to about 3,25 IIRC (these are rough numbers. But after these is when I believe they started using the square shoulder (Type B variation 2). Later yet some were found with no tooling hole (made at the Saginaw, Mi plant, marked SG on the lft side of receiver (Type B variation 3).

    Taking a guess..... I'd say a 8 or 9 of 43 barrel.
As far as barrel maker? Seem to recall with the free barrel issue program, that S'G' used Inland, S.G. Buffalo Arms, Some Rock-Ola and of course Underwood barrels.
I'll try to research it closer if no one nails it for you.
Remember SG took over operations on April 1 1943 and used up (I believe bought up) any approved extra parts etc.

I'm rushing here on a always tough for me to answer question (any IP, S'G' S.G. gets iffy for me) So don't rush out and make some big $$ purchase because of my info

    Cheers,

I have been keeping up with S'G' for about 5 years, so far I have 130 numbers saved. I have one other "D" receiver with Round hole 3241XXX with Underwood 6-43.
That 3 mil block is very crazy!! All over the place.. I also have 324694X with Underwood 2-43.
I can share the list, I just saved SN, Barrel, Letter on receiver, tooling hole (round or Square).
Carbines like this one I don't even bother to put on the list...The barrel date don't look right and should be more like 8-43.

Lot of wrong with that one. Wrong barrel, wrong recoil plate, wrong stock.

I should note that the rear flip sight on the receiver I pictured above is a REPRO.
It was sold to me as such.
I don't dare try to remove it in fear of breaking off the edges of the dovetails.
When Bubba put the FAKE on, he peened the edges over, making IMO any attempt at removing too dangerous.
Worse part is there are no round stake marks from a previous Adj rear sight.

I have pictured comparisons along side a real RG-S'G' rear flip, but don't want to post.
Below is the fake on my S'G' 1,823,xxx

I have a Inland barrel but most of the date is worn off. Date 1/43 but looks like it could be 11/43. ???. Will try & get a pic up.

Inland did supply S'G' with about 13,000 barrels in November 1943. But your serial number is at the end of the old IP block of numbers and S'G' was done with those well before the November time frame. Since it's been through a rebuild, the barrel was most likely changed then.
