I never understood why some countries around the world ban possession of firearms chambered for ammunition their military uses.

I have a guess. Those governments are fearful of their subjects gaining control and using the vast amounts of stored military ammunition against them during a rebellion.

So, that's just my guess but I'll bet that nations that ban firearms that chamber military ammunition are also corrupt and / or tyrannys. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or know anything else about the history of these laws? A future tyrant may try to do the same thing here.
