1911 A1 Remington Rand / Colt
I have been looking for a nice clean WW2 era 1911 A1 for my collction and found one on GunBroker. Very attractive but it has a Remington Rand upper on a Colt lower. The finish looks great on both so I bought it. I'm not a purist who must have everything the way a book says it must be. I assume these guns were repaired during the war and afterwards with whatever part worked, regardless of manufacturer. Is the mixed upper and lowers a common thing? Thanks.

I saw one of those auctions where the seller said they had a Colt slide on a RR frame. I checked the numbers and the frame was a Colt too. Maybe you will get lucky and have a correct gun.
