    1891 Peruvian I Think?

Just bought a barreled action. I'm told it is an 1891 Peruvianicon Mauser. But it appears to be a bit of an oddball. The barrel length is 23 1/2" and the action screws are only 7" apart. The receiver is scrubbed but there are a couple of Peruvian linked hands on it. The extractor is non-rotating and it appears designed for the single stack protruding mag. Most of the Peruvians that I can come up with are either 29+" or 17" barrels. Anybody got a clue?

The linked hand are Argentineicon and the action looks right but the rear sight on the barrel is someting else I believe. Do you know what it is chambered for? The Argentine should be 7.65X53. I'm guessing that is a 8MM barrel.

It's chambered in 7.65x53 Mauser. The rear sight is the Lange-Visier used on the Germanicon Gewehr 98, I know that the Peruvians kept that style of sight on their Mausers. I just found out from a gent on another forum that the barreled action started out as an Argentine Mauser and was sold to Peruicon where the Lange-Visier sight was added and the barrel shortened to 23.5". Thanks to all who gave assistance.
