    PH5D and No.8 assistance

    Can anyone tell me the specs for the mounting screws?

    They should be BA thread form.

    On my own No 8, the larger mounting screw hole near the safety spring is 3BA, the smaller one on the side of the charger bridge is 4BA.

    Perhaps try a No 4 safety spring screw for the larger one, and a No 4 cocking piece screw for the smaller one.

    BA type screws are still quite easy to come by. Especially in the UKicon. You could try model engineering shop's and on-line.
    Also tap's and die's are still available if you need to clean up a thread.

    I'm in the US. The safety spring screw will work for the larger but needs to be shortened by 3-4 threads. For the smaller front one I've pressed the reverse-slot front sight clamping screw into service. It was enough to get me to the range. Now to work on the cosmetics.
