For those too lazy to read the finer print, only (1) pistol allowed...ever, no matter what grade you received in any of the past sell-offs. Looks like they are still in the 3rd iteration now.
I landed a field grade in the 2nd iteration, Ithaca lower, rand slide, and brand new contract replacement barrel, likely never fired before. Buffer spring was a bit worn out with frequent failure to feed. New one solved that problem and the gun runs wonderfully now.
EDIT: looks like the instructions still contain a contradiction.
"Every applicant will be treated as a new customer to CMP 1911. If you have already purchased a 1911 whether from the RGN system or the Auction site, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER 1911. "
so, every applicant is a new customer, unless you are not a new customer. I can attest that the latter statement is true. No repeat customers for 1911s...ever...no matter what was available at time of purchase previously. If only field grades were left when your number was up in round 1 or 2, then too bad. you will never be allowed to own a service grade from CMP under any circumstances.
apparently, you missed the same link in my post on the subject.
Yep. Saw it after, then saw it went to the same place, and couldn't figure out how to delete the post. Then forgot to try again after getting distracted by something shiny.
