I got mine from a guy in New Brunswick when I was at the small arms school. I had the field firing ranges at my finger tips so, 5.56 and all the open range time you could want. By the way, they take regular AK 47 parts straight across, no mods. We happened to have several in the lockup as well... The barrel was a 12" twist and our ammo was the 62gr bullet so they came out sideways, but at that price it didn't matter.
