    Webley & Scott Model 1908

It's not often you find pre-WWI guns in such good shape.

This W&S M1908 looks to be produced shortly after the hammer was lengthened. Perhaps late 1911 or early 1912? This must be what they looked like when fresh off the factory floor.

Pics, enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Very nice! I've got an H&R licensed hammerless version made about 10 years later. (Can't get the pic file size small enough to post.)

Yes, besides the "hammerless" feature, you will notice a conspicuous pin through the center of the slide, and grip safety. All changes were incorporated into the H & R SELF-LOADING CALIBER 32. The Worcester, MA plant produced a total of 34,500 units from 1916-1924.

Quite so. Mine's about 1800 units later than yours, and in similar condition. Pistols of this era have so much character.

    Martin,

    Lovely little pistol!

According to Page 154 of Gordon Bruce's excellent, "Webley & Scott Automatic Pistols", your example was manufactured in June of 1912.

    Cheers,

    Terry
