Time to Tell Rush The Truth About HSUS

We have not heard from Rush, one way or the other, on his support for the number one enemy of sportsmen nationwide, the Humane Society of the United Statesicon (HSUS).

On April 14, American sportsmen were stunned to learn that Rush is supporting HSUS, and has produced ads for them opposing dog fighting and promoting a partnership between people of faith and animal activists.

At issue is not the causes discussed in the ads but the fact that he is acting as a spokesperson for the largest animal rights group in the country.

We believe that many people give to the HSUS while under the impression that they run local dog and cat shelters. However, the HSUS is not your local humane society that takes care of pets, but a well-funded national group determined to destroy your outdoor heritage.

The HSUS/Limbaugh ads have also run during the "Rick and Bubba" show on XM radio. The family friendly "rural comic" show is very popular in the Southern U.S. This is an obvious attempt to make in-roads among conservatives.

Last week, 28 leading conservation groups signed a letter to Mr. Limbaugh explaining the real agenda of the HSUS.

This story has generated national press attention in the Los Angeles Times, Washington Times, New York Post, as well as on ESPN.

Now it’s time for Rush to hear from American hunters, fishermen, and trappers live and in person.

Longtime listeners are familiar with Rush’s “Open Line Friday” show during which he lets the callers choose the topic to be discussed. This Friday, May 1, is a great opportunity for sportsmen and sportswomen to call in and let Rush know the facts about the nation’s top animal rights group, HSUS.

Sportsmen nationwide are encouraged to call Rush and tell him how HSUS is assaulting your rights around the country by:

bankrolling efforts to ban the hunting of America’s #1 game bird, mourning doves;
opposing hunting with dogs;
opposing giving parents the ability to choose at what age their sons and daughters are permitted to begin hunting and much, much more.

Take Action! Sportsmen should call Rush’s show at 1-800-282-2882between noon and 3pm Eastern Standard Time THIS Friday, May 1.

Remember, Rush gets thousands of phone calls, so persistence is an absolute must! Everyone who calls in to Rush, please e-mail the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance at info@ussportsmen.org and let us know the outcome of your call.
