Need alittle help guys
I'm looking at a 1942 1911A1 WB Colt
Heres the story:
It's a matching numbers 1942 U.S.P. marked Colt 1911a1 with W.B. inspection mark .
All the parts (trigger, hammer, sights, mainspring housing, barrel, grips, etc.) are correct, and I believe are original. The only part I'm not sure of is the barrel bushing.
The owner claimed he got it from his grandfather who carried it late in WWII/Korea as a Navy officer.
After the grandfather passed away and the kid/bubba got hold of it, he decided to would do a krylon 're-finish' job.Looks like he actually sandblasted the finish off then spraypainted the darn thing
I realize it has no collector value now but I thought I would like to bring this warhorse back.
Thought I would repark it and shoot her.
So after I get her reparked what would she be worth?
I always wanted a WWII 1911 but I just dont want to get upsidedown on this one
Thank guys

Probably around $700 plus or minus. Any good GI shooter is worth that. If done correctly and the markings are still strong it may actually look OK. But it will never be original again and collectibility is gone.
