WWI artillary spotting scope

I have a spotting scope I beleave is WWI it is U.S. marked the maker was A. Jobin Paris any info would be great.

Any idea? If I should post some place else let me know. I was looking at the time frame and thought would fit "03's".

I have a friend of mine who specializes in such things. He has a John-Beard size knowledge of scopes relating to coast artillery. Let me check and I'll get back to you.

My friend replied back and said it is possibly a French anti-aircraft spotting scope, possibly dating to the WWI period. He said he would have some more information after he has a chance to check his references, which I will also pass along on this thread.

My friend had a chance to look in his references and identified it as a field artillery observation scope (not a spotting scope). It was also used as battery commander scopes for 155mm units overseas. Although made in France, the color, tripod type and lens cover identify it as that was used by the U.S. Army.
