Finally found a (T)
I haven't laid eyes on this rifle yet but will soon enough, I bought it and it's in shipping.
I did my best to research the markings on the rifle and the configuration of everything. According to my research it is a (T).
Concure? :dunno:
All I need to do now is find a scope and base.
I plan on making my own period sniper box.

Also, if you're going to build your own chest, then this may help … ;)
With thanks to member mudpuppy, there's an article titled Mechanical Blueprints and Specifications for the Enfield No.4 Mk1(T) Sniper Rifle (click here) in the Technical Articles for Milsurp Collectors and Re-loaders (click here).
Note: After you click on images to ENLARGE them, you may find they automatically size smaller in your browser's window making them harder to view. The auto sizing is your browser's way of keeping images entirely within the screen size you have set. Move your mouse pointer to the bottom centre of the pic and you will see an options panel appear. There will be a small square box next to the large X, which will have a pointer arrow sticking out of it. If it's illuminated, it means the pic you're viewing can be enlarged, so click on this box and the pic will EXPAND and open to its normal size.

The transverse screw through the fore stock is indicative of service in the Indian Army.

Badger,
I traced it back to BSA Shirley too so that makes me feel a lot better!
I was concerned about the wear on her too but for $750 I think I can clean her up and make her pretty again.
Major thanks for that blue print! I have never seen one of those before and will post up pictures once I get it built. :super:
It does have the S51 stamp on the stock-again thanks for confirming my homework!
I think I have the real deal.
Amatikulu,
Indian Army? Oh man...buzz kill. :(
I had hoped she was English issued. Can you tell me where you got that info?
Thanks though!

I like old girls with mileage on them, so don't fuss over the condition ...
Here's a good thread to read ..

I think you might find some interesting pics in that thread. ;)

Badger,
Do you have higher quality files of the blue prints you posted?
If so can you email me high resolution PDF's?
Thanks,
Steve

Here's a PDF of the best image I have...
If you zoom in on it and print sections, the dimensions are more readable ...

Now where do I find a scope? : )

PS: Did I spend too much at $750?
