What's it worth?
Opportunity for a Mauser K98 yugo rework, VG metal and laminate stock, Bolt not matching but headspace is good. Has front hood and cleaning rod. Very Good bore. Just looking for a representative K98 (and plinker), and do not care about markings. What is a decent price? M1 Carbines, AKs, and ARs I know. Mausers I know nothing.

if you just want a good shootable 98k and do not care about markings and how original it looks, $250 - $300 for something like that is what you should pay

Thanks. If all goes well, it will be MUCH less than that!

Rangemaster,
schön, dass sie einen K98k kaufen wollen!
The Yugo rifles over here are in the same price range that kar98k told you.
If you get it much cheaper buy it and make your own ammo. It is mostly more accurate than the normal ammo and it didnt kick like a mule. Please send a few pics of it if you got it.
Regards

Danke, mein Herr. I habe immer ein K98 wolte! I can't afford a collector, but a decent, fairly correct looking (except all the Yugo markings) K98 would be just fine. After all, my mix-master CMP Inland is good enough. I'd like to shoot it in some 100 yard surplus military rifle matched.

German markings ground off? Strictly a shooter. Tops is $250.00.

Thanks to all, but it went from $130 yesterday to over $260 today - so I backed off. All German markings were gone except "Mod 98." I will keep my eyes open for a better deal.

If you are looking for a Yugo like a 24/47 which would have a Mauser action check out this site, some nice looking rifles. Decent $$$$. Bought an Enfield from them.

Thanks garra, They are good people. I have bought a few weapons from them in the past. I was looking at their Enfields, too.
