I have an original leather scabbard for my MH bayonet. The seam is split in one place. Can someone recommend the best way to repair this without damaging it and what type of thread should I be using ?
TIA

I repaired a 1907 bayonet scabbard using wax cord from a leather supply house. I'm not sure if the martini scabbard has a raised joint down the back like the 1907 but if so you might have to use an awl and a lock stitch. Might be easier to take it to a shoemaker/leather worker and have him do it.
I know my local leather worker has been a mountain of help in this area. Plus he just loves to see this sort of thing.
