I was pleased with the No4 I picked up tonight, but I was even more pleased with some of the parts on the rifle. I know the swivel does not go with this rifle, any ideas what it is off of?

Nice finds. What rifle was it?
The piling swivel is the later one for the SMLE. Post WW I and not too often seen.
oh my god, you got the rest of the rifle?
imho that swivel does fit it, all those neat parts are very early that I've only seen on no4 and no1 mk6 trials types, and on those, being 1930 ish I'm picking that swivel to be parts bin available correct for 1930. Now if the rifle is a LB 1940 prototype then I don't know, out of my arena there ...can you show us the whole rifle, pretty please?
tlvaughn, A very interesting group of early parts, what did they come attached to?

'52 and 48 and the other marks on the wrist suggest British overhaul after the war.
What are the upside-down "53|K" on the wrist for?
Was yours lot 1244 by any chance?
I think you have some of the parts from my SMLE MkVI from the same auction, they all came from the same source, what is the serial no. on the bolt? I asked them if any of the bolts were mixed up but they swore blind they were not (didn't believe them at all) They completely missed that my lot was a trials rifle so I was pleased to get it for $325 - I don't suppose you want to sell the front sight protector and swivel do you? I see you have the hinged front band from the early LB No.4 Mk1 in the auction as well! I wonder if that had yours or mine on it?
