RC K98k with blued bore

The Russians blued the bore of my recently purchased RC K98k. Should I strip the blueing out of the bore or just leave it alone and shoot it off. ;)

The bore looks really nice with sharp grooves and lands and no pitting or corrosion that I can see, it just has that Russian blueing……. :ugh:

The thickness of any "blueing" is miscoscopic. And removing it - IF you could even that without damage - would enlarge the bore by that microsopic amount. And what is the point? Are you worried about tiny collectors wandering up and down the bore looking at the blueing and mumbling "Not correct, Not correct!" :lol:

Seriously, I reckon that it will disappear pretty quickly when you shoot the rifle.

So leave it alone, and it will simply be polished out with use.

I will leave it alone. I figured it would help protect the bore from corrosion, but I just wanted to make sure.:D

Yep leave it be...

Blueing is IN the metal, parkerizing is ON the metal. Blueing can't hurt anything. Like they say, don't worry about it.

Original finish K98k- looks like the bore was blued from the get-go...A bit left in the corners, still!
