8mm Mauser ammo test

I tested a few different types of Ammo in my M48a, here's the results.
Test firing was done from the prone position, shooting at 100 yards, 85 degrees and very humid.
Ammo tested:

2012 Hornady Match ammo
196 gr FMJ chrono'd at about 2500fps average
Decent accuracy. This is good, consistent ammo, but Hornady seats the bullets WAY deeper than Mil-surp, like 0.1 further into the case. Not sure why, but it can't be helping accuracy. This ammo is reloadable (and not corrosive) that counters the pricey price-tag.

2002 Olympic Greek ammo
180 gr FMJ chrono'd at a whopping 2,255fps average
Accuracy? all over the map. But if you want to scare the bejesious out of somebody,this is the stuff. Loud, I mean LOUD.

In fact the chrono kept reading error due to the fireblast, had to move it back a little.
But this is not match Ammo.
Had a few FTF about every 20 rounds.
Was pretty cheap a few years ago and good for plinking, I guess?

1999 Yugo surplus M-75 Sniper ammo
198gr FMJBT chrono'd at 2,387fps - very consistent chrono readings between shots.
Very good accuracy, IMO.
Comes in 15 round boxes. Not cheap, but not as pricey as commercial ammo.
Good stuff and cool foreign writing on the boxes

1938 Turk surplus
154 gr copper-nickel jacketed flat-base bullets chrono'd at a screaming 2,934 fps
"this bullet attracts a magnet". This came in brass clips, in blue cloth bandoleers and was cheap 10 years ago (should have bought a lot more!)
Accuracy with this nearly 75 year-old ammo is outstanding :super: in my opinion

When I had a Hakim it would not keep the Turk surplus on paper. Perhaps the violent loading cycle was to blame? Haven't shot any since, IIRC.
