Were lyman super targetspots used on USMC 1903's during ww2?

Thought I would utilize this site's members vast knowledge of all things milsurp on the title subject. I have access to a Lyman 12x Targetspot (the one typically used on Winny target model 70's) that I'm considering for a repro usmc sniper build? Or did they only use Unertl's and a smattering of Feckers?

They initially used everything they could get their hands on. No evidence that I know of says they did, but conversely, no evidence I know of says they didn't.

I know of one in Aussie that is said to be a genuine WW2 sniper. Very interested to hear members views on this.
