Polytech Parts Interchange Question

I have a "post-ban" SA M1A with a flash hider but no evil bayonet lug. I have a friend who has an extra polytech or norinco M14S flash hider with a bayonet lug. Are they interchangeable or is there a way to tell other than him mail me his part and I disassemble my rifle and try it on? I figured asking might be easier. Thanks in advance for any help.

I changed mine and had no problems.

Guys around here put M14 flash eliminators on Poly's as required. No problem.
