Question concerning early Inland stocks

Inland Hi-wood stocks with the L A stamp inside ? are these rare and among the first Inland stocks manufactured for WW2 ?

If you have it look at Carbine Club Newsletter # 333 January 2006. It shows 4 different LA stamped stocks with other additional markings including the crossed cannon acceptance stamp in the sling well. They ranging from serial number 15xx with barrel dated 6-42 to serial number 23625 with barrel dated 9-42.

Thank you for the L A information, as I have not been a member of the carbine club since 1987, I posted my question here.

Yes, but they don't have to be 'I'-cut. I had one once with 'oval' oiler cut. It had all the marks in the sling well plus a big crossed cannons on the stock.
