Two Sherman tanks move into position as the U.S. Marines advance on Naha, the capital city of Okinawa, during the closing months of World War II. Pfc. Harold Tayler, Company C, 1st Battalion, 29th Marine Regiment, 6th Marine Division who now lives in Lake Suzy, Fla. received the Silver Star for his exploits during the Battle for Half Moon Hill on Okinawa.

Spielberger could make a whole movie on Okinawa. Iwo gets all the ink, but Oki was a saga.

One thing I felt was need was some narration to full in missing information

One point the never got conveyed to the public was the time line of Guadalcanal Canal and how grave the situation was

Okinawa was the only Pacific land engagement where the number of Navy casualties nearly changed the outcome.

I have a Garrison flag that flew on Okinawa. My father was stationed there in the Corp and liberated it.
