Due to our current gunpowder shortage, i find that I am only able to purchase BLC2 in any quantity. I am hoping that someone here has loaded BLC2 in 308 with 150 gr pills. None of my books say anything about gas guns and 308. I am loading specifically for a FN FAL. Any suggested starting loads would be greatly appreciated.

Although I have not loaded it, the Speer Manual #14 on page 459, lists 168 grain match bullets (I know you said 150 grain) using a start charge of 41.0 grains of BL-C(2) and 45.0 grains max. There is a footnote which denotes BL-C(2) as one of the propellants suitable for gas-operated semi-auto match rifles. In addition it lists a magnum primer for this combination.

I use BLC-2 in my .308's and .223's. Works great.
I've used BL(C)-2 and WC-846 for years for 7.62/ .308 in a CETME and M1A. Very good accuracy with 45gr with 147gr M80 pulls and 44gr with 168gr SMK. Each lot of the WC-846 is different and not directly comparable to BL(C)-2. You'll want to work up your loads to that point yourself. They meter very well through a Dillon powder measure.

Ditto what Eagle 1 said. Check the Powder Valley website, they had Accurate XMR2495, 2520, and 2460 in eight pound jugs as of this morning. All three are good for gas guns especially the XMR2495 which is similar to 4895 and a good choice.

had no problem inM1 & M1A. Have switched to W748, since.
With no rifle ID'd suggest going to Hodgson website and see what they recommend. careful using MIL-Surplus cases normally need to use less powder than SAAMI/commercial case
Thanks guys. I found several loads for 308 but nothing specifically for a gas operated gun.
I use 45.5 grains of BLC2 in my M1A and My AR10, with 150 gr.heads. Works great but as always my load my not be safe in your gun. Be sure to work up to it carefully.
