We've seen this one before...he's about to crate those and ship them home to collectors for Christmas...
Few $'s worth there with prices the way they are today.
I wonder what he was really doing with them?
It is the 1940s edition of a hero pic. Most likely him and his buddies gathered up a bunch of captured arms and wanted to see how many he could hold, I know I have done dumb stuff like that. My personal record is 4 flak vest on me, 4 C6 (one in each hand by the carry handle, and two slung on me), and two C9s (the carry handles stuck into the 'sleeves' of the flak vest). Lets just say I couldn't move very far. The instructors were also pretty surprised/broke down laughing (I was course senior and for some reason, half the platoon got sent somewhere without there firearms, I think it was the MIR, the other half left me with the kit, it was between me and 3 others to get the half that went to the MIRs kit out). I really wish I had a photo, as I am sure it was pretty funny looking.
At least buddy in the picture looks happy enough.
Can anyone identify the armoured vehicle in the background, please? I can't decide if it's German or American?
Looks like M8 Armored Car.
No mistaking a "Ma-Duece" Browning 50 caliber HMG silhouette.
I think that's a Ford M20, the M8 had a turret. I'm no expert though but I do have a Ford GPW that I'm restoring.
