Mystery holster
Good evening:
I was going through my gun room, wondering what the Canadian government is going to add to its daily ever expanding ban list next, and found this holster I have had for several years. It is quite well made, appears likely early 20th Century , nicely embossed and with an unusual metal fastening system I have not seen before. It has two proofs on it which look to me to be Austrian Eagles, although for some reason I wonder if it could be Italian. It does not look large enough to house a Roth Steyr although I sold mine a few years back so can't test it to be sure. The angles seem wrong and so does the size for a Steyr 1911. Maybe a Browning of some sort? Anyone see anything like this before?
Thanks!
Ed

That's not even a holster...for a tool kit of some type? Göricke made motorcycles and bicycles and associated tools. You see your case here attached to this bike...or one very similar to it. Goricke Motorcycles, Mopeds Scooters

OMG Jim! That is it. I got it as part of a lot of other holsters and web gear about 10 years ago, and set it aside. Totally makes sense but it sure looks like a holster! It's certainly nicely tooled! So, bicycle tools. Who'd a thought! No wonder i could never find it in my holster reference books!
Thanks
Ed
