Thanks so much for your very informative reply.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I am a bit confused with your reference to the leather 1917 Patt (M17) slings. This is a pattern I am unfamiliar with. The sling that comes closest to that terminology that I am aware of, is the U.S., WW I, Kerr "No-Buckl" web sling, or M1917, that was a supplemental sling to the more common, leather, M1907 sling.

The sling you mention is leather, so it obviously can't be the Kerr M1917 web sling, but could we be possibly talking about the M1907, as that leather sling was also the same type as originally used on the No. 4 (T) and L42? According to the C.E.S. for the No. 4 (T) that sling is referred to as SLING, Leather, USA loop patt. Could that be it?

Hi Simon. Seeing as these are about as far out of my field as you can get, I'm going to ask you about a rifle that looks like a mock-up, but I'm not well enough informed to say for sure.
It is allegedly an Enforcer, serial number PH203349

any info from anyone appreciated.

Firstly, Apologies to everyone who has been waiting patiently for an answer to their queries. I was made redundant at the end of May and have been keeping my head down in a new job for the past few weeks.

Rifle X32218 was part of batch number 31 which consisted of 20 rifles and was sent to store at Donnington on the 5th October 1971.

Rifle X32389 was part of batch number 29 which consisted of 20 rifles and was sent to store at Donnington on the 4th October 1971.

That serial number doesn't tally up with any of the records for the Enforcer. Just for reference no genuine Enforcer rifle will have a serial number made of of more than three digits.

Rifle V39378 was part of batch number 6 which consisted of 10 rifles and was sent to store at Donnington on the 31st March 1971.
