Showing off my M1 Carbine Magazine Pouch Collection

Did you buy my pouch collection on the CSP shopper a few years back? I sold 12-14 diffrent ones in one group?

I purchased four (4) pouches from Northridge and two (2) from Sarco. All the others are from various gun shows around the country. The hardest part of collecting the magazine pouches would be finding correct and original stock platforms (ie..carbines) themselves.

Yes, they (carbines) are all correct and original.

In the past, I’ve had the good fortune of working, in a gun store, in an area that was full of senior citizens. The wives would usually show up after their veteran husband's would pass and just unload all their goodies for cash.
I've added many a fine collectible to my collection in that way.
It's sad in a way, we really don't own these fine collectibles we are truly just their care takers for a short while.

I had purchased several shopping bags of pouchs from a old timer that used to own a surplus store. I put together a set of about 15 diffrent ones for myself and another set of 12 diffrent ones and sold them on the CSP shopper 5 years back or so. Both stock and belt pouches, I thought maybe you had bought them.

That is a gorgeous collection of carbines. Apparently I find I am behind the curve. Here I was thinking two was a good number, well time to go shopping.:rofl:

Very nice collection of Carbines and pouches indeed. Like many, I also refrain from putting them on my stocks for the marring. But indeed, thousands of ww2 and Korean War soldiers certainly did it!

I can't imagine someone like Brian with scores or maybe hundreds. I used to think it was kind of silly, collecting something that they made 6 million of, but I now realize that each is a different item and unique in one way or another.

I tried the stock pouch for a while, but ended up removing it as it made a handy wonderfully balanced rifle into a club. In combat, probably yes, but for now, no. The Garand makes carrying extra clips easy, in Vietnam you would see them hanging off slings, shirt pockets, web gear straps everywhere. Not easy with the carbine. I suppose that you could sling a bandoleer with 7 mags like we did with the M16.

I agree with Bill Ricca, 13 IS an unlucky number. Go ahead and sell him the mag pouch cheap, but I want to be first in line for the 13th carbine.........any will do!
