Back in the early 90s, that is what I did. Built a rifle combining several styles. A real mutt. But I did it and it goes bang. Ruined one stock while inletting the barrel. I used a tulle fussil stock...
Search epay for mk1 and mk2 knives.
I also have a BSA altered to 32-20. There are healed bullet molds that allow you to use a correct diameter bullet. Great fun. Mine has a BSA tang sight added.
Thanks for the pin info. I really appreciate it.
I kind of got a real colt as well. Bought it for my dad in '91. Just got it from him still in the box. "Colt AR--15 light weight sporter" with two 5rd mags, (15 rd spacers in the 20 rd mags).
I would buy some cerro safe and do a chamber cast. I have an 1867 Danish contract RB and the barrel measures something like .482 bore and .510 groove. Tight.
I was thinking the same thing about how unimpressive the Sea-wis looked, against the boats. How will it do against a missle. They do sound impressive when firing. (i'm ex navy).
Thanks for all the input. I currently have 2 surplus 30s and the 2 factory 5rders with the spacers removed untill I pick up a few more.
I have just received a colt ar light weight sporter, that has been in it's box for 30 years. Are there any brands or capacities of mags to stay away from?
Thanks. John
Now the question is, If a .30 cal bullet goes into the tanks bore and were to become wedged between the cannon projectile and barrel, Would it become a large enough bore obstruction to damage the...
For contrast, I was recently given a late 1880s Baker double barrel shotgun that an individual decided to "Brighten up", to sell. He sanded the damascus barrels so they are bright and shiny. The...
The pins aren't supposed to be removed. The screws would be loosened enough to get the band over them. Try soaking the band screws with penetrating oil. Then with a properly fitted screw driver, try...
I would think that the trapdoor stock finish is linseed oil. Use something to lightly clean it and start rubbing in light coats of boiled linseed oil.
Or use a spring from a pen. Interestingly, two CAI stamped rifles I bought both had the modified ejectors in them.
I have two winchester LL rifles. both have small import stamps on the underside of the barrel. Both have excellent bores. One is a complete mix master while the other is all winchester ,from what I...
Nice carbine. I have a std rifle no upper hand guard. If you haven't watched it, look up C&Rsenal on youtube. Othias did a thorough episode on the kropatschek
The only physical difference between the two Portuguese cartridges is the length of the neck. I have a 1000 rd box of blanks. Most are shorter.
I have #1374814. 7-33 barrel date. The stock was bubba'd and I restored it to full military configuration, back in the '80's. What's on your rear sight?
Could it have a chamber adapter? Maybe short chambered? Do you have a full length sizing die for a .308?
Funny thing is that I rescued a similar looking 1903 back in the early "80s. Even down to filling in the top of the stack where the butt plate tang went. I wish I had kept the old stock.
You might try some light heat, on the band portion, before tapping with a block of wood and hammer
Not .39 spl, but I have some .45acp brass that take large pistol primers.
A lot of older ammo came in 5-10 years back. Much of it is reported to go "Click_Bang". There is a more active martini forum over on the Britishmilitaria site. I have a MKIV and MKII, from the Nepal...
I've always thought that they were put in those scabbards by the British during WWII. I've got a couple of them/
