Interesting. Do we have records to confirm that?
Do you know anything about the history of this particular rifle?

CNC would make easy work of the barrel threads. Drawings exist online IIRC.
The holes show that a stamped charger bridge and sight base was fitted at one time.
Probably not worth trying to...
Overall it appears to be an M10 .280, even to the barrel profile, but clearly those markings on the barrel don't fit that hypothesis.
Is there a serial number on the barrel just above the stock...
You have a genuine Long Branch "T" backsight by the look of it - no one has faked the Maltese cross mark as far as we know. The rest of the rifle is a bit contradictory: it has been refinished and...
Could you expand on that please?
The wear looks commensurate with banging around the veldt for a while: 7th Dragoon Guards - Wikipedia
Come now, anyone who's read Simon Murray should know that NCO's wear the blue kepis. ;)
You may be right about the originals being just covers Aragon, but I believe the "kepis blanc" was on issue...
Came across these old clippings the other day; from Life Magazine I suspect. Notice the wheels under the early subs and the model with externally mounted torpedoes on rotating launchers!
Images...
IIRC the electro-pencilled rifle number ("C 1625" in this case) is only found on the 600(?) No.4 Aldis set up in the enlarged PPCo. rings, aka "Bartle" rings. Given the wonky "1" I'm not certain...
Can't see a singe definitive shell strike on it myself.; must have been a relatively new arrival. One is reminded of the curious absence of a mantlet on both the turret and hull armament; both must...
Belay that -was nodding off or something! :D
Since I have a bolt near at hand this time I just took it down and yes, it all comes back: there is a collar that threads into the bolt head body and...
I've used Simple Green at 100% with some success, but IIRC the YT vids I watched showed there were more complex but probably more effective methods that used other ingredients as well.
Have you not been able to remove the firing pin and spring?
Keep fiddling with it and you'll get it. Probably there are burrs on the internal interrupted threads that are catching. Once you get it apart take a close look and remove those with needle files...
A very dense felt about 3/4" thick as I recall. The same sort of stuff "Russian" felt books are made from. A couple of those cases split open would have made a very good sleeping mat if kept dry!
And they'd have an even greater problem now.

1 Corinthians 2:14
"Many intend to seek God at the eleventh hour, only to die at ten-thirty."
Had one of those cases previously: there was a piece of white nylon strapping similar to a heavy mine tape and a slit in the felt about where the receiver would be when the rifle was in the case. My...
The barrel was no doubt set back when the chamber was re-cut post-WWI to eliminate the grossly over-sized one that resulted from reaming out they were all given in the hopes that would reduce the...
You might want to research salvestrols and their anti-cancer effect, as well as what foods they can be found in.
Someone won the Nobel Prize for demonstrating that cancer cells feed on sugars so...
Interesting date for a Model C trials. I see yours also has the cross-screw rather than pin through the forend strap, as did mine.
Originally there was a plain sling loop by the front guard...
Impressive how the foresight base appears to have contained the expansion without splitting or cracking!
A similar single "T" is sometimes seen on the Nock's Form or over the chamber area; meaning unknown to me!
I'd consider buying some books on cancer and how to avoid and ameliorate it by "lifestyle choices"; there are many such books published by those who have been there.
