Wish it could have come sooner, but life will have it's way with us, as many here can attest. Hope it's of some use to someone.
Been a while, but got to the first test firing of ten rounds at 52 yards. First one was way low, walked up the next two. Fired the last seven for effect with the front sight buried in the rear notch,...
Hammer is pre-1900 cone style. Interesting. Any Turkish markings?
Sure does.
The Finns made a lot of use of 1891's. They were not particular about matching numbers, making working rifles from what ever they could buy or capture. Some examples appear fairly untouched, others...
Things like metal sling swivels through the dog collar slots, D mark indicating chamber alteration, rear sight markings changed out to metric ...
Any Finnish mods?
Obviously aesthetes of high order.
Seeing stuff about a theft from the Lithgow museum. Anything to this?

I'm thinking Walther PP. Note the retaining tab goes up to the button, rather than down, The tab appears folded over at the flap.
Not going to say it.
Great to see it up and running properly!
M8 Scout car?
Probably not particularly rare, but for $5.00, couldn't pass it up. There's continuity through the head, and the base, but some corrosion at the switch to head contact. Should clean up and function.
Yep. Same here.
For what it's worth, I think a weathered color case hardening would suit it.
Bit of wood extension at each end instead of leather?
