Keep in mind the Rim on the 7.5 Swiss is unusually large rim size for a non magnum cartridge. You might have erratic grip with smaller case heads.
Like many aspects of the 1917, a lot of what is posted is wrong.
I have owned Winchesters, swapped a few part around and out and no issue what so ever.
The base of the Winchester so called...
Dave:
Good info, I have a 1911 and can test it. With the 7.5 LW I have one of each of the groups (K-31, K11 and the 7.5 LW (its Loather Walther barrel what chamber do they do that in?)

Nice rundown.
The Europeans do cooler proof marks than we do that is for sure.
Well partially solved. The too hot loads were wrong powder Identification. Got that sorted and purged from the dispenser it was in.
I did fine a 7.5 PPU New case, it matches on the...
I think it will change, give it 6 months. I suspect there is a lot of "Honey, what is all this stuff stacked up in my pantry " going on.
Cool markings, Basically its Brit Proof stuff as they were the client for the P14.
I am not a 1917 Purist of terms, 1917 police etc despite Ferris take on it who I respect deeply.
I am famous for my typo's as well.
But Browning is totally wrong and I thought it should be...
PPU in 7.5 was pretty common before the panic.
Reloading is fine in normal times but you can't get components right now. I think Primers are the hardest.
Equally, its not cheap to get...
Short answer is no.
I disagree on the give. Its what we have to work with, best is the aluminum bedding blocks that are solid.
But that is target rifles. The 1917 is not a target rifle,...
Actually its not, changing a magzine slows you down. In the case of a bolt action tht is sort of, hmm, but it does slow you down.
The Brits were into rapid fire and a well trained...
Sorry, I don't get that. If the round didn't fire then the case didn't expand. So why no extraction? Chamber too tight?
Or is the extractor itself at fault?
I am trying to sort through...
I am looking for an explanation as to why GP-11 cases on the shoulder ala where head space is determined are so SHORT?
I name my rifles so the K-31, the 1911 are a given. My 7.5 is a...
I don't know much about MN, someone gave this to my wife, asking $80 which will include shipping, I just want it to have a good home. Seems to nice to pitch but have no idea if any one wants...
Well I went to high school late 60s early 70.
We sure did not have any pickups with gun racks.
The markings under the barrel for sure are the import.
What the rest is??????
113279Ok, found this. An A seems to indicate US inspection by Brit inspectors. Keep in mind once in the UK it may be proofed again going into the civie world.
Maybe someone can answer that but we are limited to the US version as far a ref goes.
All we can say is the Brits had a completely different labeling system and even did not go with specs (as...
Am I glad I am right handed!
It took me a while to find mine! Been doing a total revamp of the shop to get reloading setup right and a work bench clear. Finally found it in the very last drawer that was not where it...
Long convoluted story but when check the COAL on my Eddystone with a JA two grove barrel, I found it was more like a Sako with a very deep throat. I am going to whittle down to one or two 1917s...
The Swiss Product Clamp on mount is absolutely excellent.
For this purpose (Mil Surplus) I just use any scope. I got a couple of Savage actions I converted to Target guns. Nikon, a Burris...
Well the hoot of hoots to me is I ordered a bayonet about 1960 (maybe a bit before, I would have to do some math and not sure I want the answer!). I was around 7 at the time.
You could get...
No, center punching is putting a dimple in a specific place for drilling.
