I was doing a bit of a clear out and found some N.O.S enfield stuff that I'm probably never going to use. Where would be the best place to sell furniture? ebay? gunbroker?
aaah crap. I wonder if I can replace the front sight blade with a genuine 1895 blade. This is an antique (made 1897) so i want to keep it orginal / correct.
Managed to loosen the screw and flip it up to remove the bolt. No stripping of screws (courtesy of a good spray of Silikroil a few hours beforehand). I was able to check out the bore (worn throat...
Hello all. Took out a winchester 1895 in 303 british to the range the other day. The rear sight was as low as it could go and it was hitting ~4 inches high at 50 yards with greek HXP.
Anyone know...
Hi all
I took a No.1 Mk1 I've had sitting for a few years to the range for the first time this morning. It has a Tippins windage adjustable rear sight which was really rather good (first time I've...
Are there pictures of two different rifles here? One appears to have the wood chopped, the first pictures (1 and 3) the wood appears intact on the left side of the rifle. Also, to me, and from the...
I have a PH5C on an old No.4 and i am takign to to the range this week - it's zeroed at 100 yards for an "i" sight picture on a 6 inch black.
My friend just informed me that the 300 yard range...
Thats the one I have - so the lever on the left pushes FORWARD. Perfect. it wouldn't go that way initially and I didnt want to force it, but at least I know it's supposed to now.
I have one of these on a No.1 Mk.1. It appears to have a movable level on the left side of the receiver which can be moved rearwards, to allow the base of the sight to pivot from the right side, yet...
Minute of German acheived. My eyes are an issue at 100 yards now unfortunately. More and more I find myself intending to take an SMLE but picking up a rifle with a scope. My favourite is my No.4 in...
Couls only get at the to 4 inches at the muzzle end but appears to be .7859" in outer diameter with no taper in that distance.
The Bren chest I have is also Greek in origin. Am I right in thinking that the No.1 HT snipers actually used converted Bren chests for their transit chests, as opposed to the No.4 'T's which had...
The one I have has an Enfield / Metford bolt mounted safety on it. I am interested also in how the sliding safety works as I have one on my Lee Speed.
To sum up - if anyone either sees (or has) one of these for sale in the USA please feel free to message me so I can try to get hold of one. Thank you everybody for the information.
The one on that website is EXACTLY what Im looking to get hold of with the Buttstock wrist safety. Absolutely beautiful.
Anyone have, or have information on, one of the the BSA .410 shotguns made around the early 1900's? I have one with an Enfield cocking piece and safety (it is the No.1 model) and it looks very L.E....
thank you
on No.1 Rifle one must take off the forend BEFORE removing the Buttstock, correct? ...or was that No.4s.
Fainter but I checked and that is it - 100%
how many rounds were going through it to replace a barrel twice per year?
This is great advice. As this is a polytech clone how should I ensure that the springs are the right diameter etc and everything is compatible?
Sorry about blasting this forum with questions: Can anyone advise the best list of spares to get for this rifle. I was going to order a spare set of springs at least but are there any other standard...
Any reason I need to fill the gap? Its not like I'm in the trenches and mud and blood will gum up the works.
