I have plenty on similar scale of things I like most, 4895,4064, varget, win748, because I would always do the same, just buy it whenever it was on the shelf...and it was always on the shelf....
Powder is hard to find. I have a rationing plan in place on my shooting that should keep me at the range weekly for a few years.
I popped in to Cabela's the other day - first smokeless powder I have...
Where are all these rifles being given away on gunbroker? Where do I find them?
If you won't sell it at auction with no reserve, and don't have any idea what you want for it, people most likely...
I have the same case trimmer. The shavings catcher is very nice. It has a cover that shields the cutter so they don't fly everywhere when spinning, and empty strait into the bin.
I think it is tlwatches

I bought mine from him, and his listings now seem to be the most comprehensive. I think he is the guy...

I suppose maybe they think it's like "candy cigarettes"...remember those?

apparently those aren't as dangerous as plastic play bullets.
On a serious...
I fit a 1903 minelli stock a few months ago. the inletting was good, but the outside was very fat in the forearm and the wrist. The exterior width around the action was pretty good. The lower band...
sad to think of. but dangerous to being true.
reading up on this, and learning new things all the time.

The Winchester Model 06 .22 S/L/LR Pump is in great condition too, as appears most in that collection. Father-in-law has one and the kids like to spend all day in the yard blazing away whenever we...
Wouldn't this cause the opposite effect? Doesn't the stretching occur mostly from the shoulder of the case being pushed towards the shoulder of the chamber, since that is where the extra space is?....
I got started collecting late...I spent most of my childhood either working or in a library reading (hiding from work:)) - firearm development and war stories were a favorite topic. From...
well...since no one gave the smart a%* answer, I will
if the number has an abbreviation with an m in it, it's metric. all else is standard.:dancingbanana:
I may write to CMP and ask whether there is any approved repair for old wood in terms of bedding and the repair I suggested. In particular, what is the cutoff thickness between a shim and a repair? I...
they still are worth the wait. I just received 2 Springfield service grades a couple weeks back. I stickied for at least one HRA since I only have Springfields, but the odds were not in my favor this...
I have replaced an extractor on a 1903 with a new old stock one, with no fitting needed. I thought I could tell the difference at first, seemed "stiffer" when taking on and off, and seemed to make...
I'm anxious to see what the rules are across the pond. Our CMP vintage rules https://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads/CMPGamesRules.pdf has 2 categories, with plenty of internet lawyers debating and...
Wait until the first Nov. after the ammo/gun craziness subsides. Buying overpriced guns can perhaps be a lot like buying a new fancy riding lawn mower where I grew up. Everyone wants to one-up the...
I'm hoping that the torch was just a brief futile attempt to loosen the case, and not actually applied long enough to try and "melt the case". Brass melts at ~1700F. A hand torch wouldn't do it, but...
That nick is far back, at the web behind where the case separated. The gas seal in the chamber happens further in (where the stuck part of the case gripped the wall more strong than the part that...
but it will always be YOUR restored rifle. And if you have kids you plan to pass it down to, it will always be YOUR restored rifle to them as well. Congrats for great work and effort.
There is a wax on wax off metaphor in here somewhere. My chopsticks aren't fast enough for flies though.
Just never forget to lightly oil before putting it away, especially if you degrease before...
new ejector and spring came in today. I tore apart (cleaned) the shop USMC field day style and couldn't find the original. probably slipped into a crack, never to be seen again.
Note to self...put...
