Brian: when you are up to your assh*le in alligators, it is hard to remember the initial objective is to drain the swamp.
I used to use that on my answering machine and several people just hated...
I had a mount with those markings come through here last year on a No.32 Mk.3 scope for repair
I'll see if I made any notes or took a picture of it at the time.
Not a common marking for sure....
The most probable reason there are bulges in the tubes and legs is they all have small drain holes got water in them and froze.
Most tripods, unless in the wooden case of two were just disposed of...

If you still need the dimensions of the leg PM me

Some erector plate covers do have teeth or checkering on the inside of them.
I have only run into two or three in the several hundred scopes I have worked on but they do exist.
I think I might have...
I once lent a mount for the LE No.67 set up to a chap in NZ and it never came back.
Apparently he got into wacky tobacci and other recreational pharmaceuticals and it went up his nose or in a vein....
I also have one or two so marked and apparently it is a police force in India
Does your scope match the rifle??
If not send me a PM as I did find one that I had the scope for but the owner refused...
