I’ve had very good luck buying from that auction company. I think you’ll be quite happy!
I didn’t win anything from them today. Sure wouldn’t have minded a couple of the Walther PPKs they had!
That’s my exact plan. I always have an eye opened for a low number WWI era 1903. And those adapters will be getting a workout!
As far as full auto transferables go, the Reising is darn near cheap!
I’m trying to convince a buddy to buy one. He’s thinking about something full auto and has much deeper pockets than I do!
I think I was bidding on this lot too.
Looks like the scopes found a good home though!
Nice work so far.
I have pieces of two of these. Not enough parts between the two of them to make one whole display.
No idea what I'll do with those...or this sight model for that matter haha

I meant to say now I think the *model* is of original military manufacture/use.
If this model ended up being a representation of a sight from the ‘30s or ‘40s, I would not feel it was a genuine...
Hmm...well now I’m back to thinking it might actually be military.
That era matches the workmanship better. Nothing wrong with the era...I just wouldn’t expect the beautiful cast aluminum...
Hi all,
Another auction mystery for you. It's HUGE. 48" overall length.
I haven't been able to find the sight it's meant to replicate. Any thoughts?
It feels like a military training aid...
I don’t know how true this is or where I read it, so it’s certainly worth what you’ve paid for it but...
I once read that the red finish we’re all used to seeing on Mosins is the result of a...
Looking forward to the pictures. This sounds right up my alley.
Initial thoughts: that serial number is too early to be an actual Springfield Armory Sporter so that lines up with your...
I bid on one but lost at Rock Island just a bit ago. I think they’re VERY cool.
I wouldn't imagine so this late in the war but maybe they think there's some intelligence value here?
Thanks, Jim! I posted this from my phone...it’s a lot easier to share a link than a picture haha.
Hi all,
Just picked this up from eBay for, I think, a really great price.
Has anyone seen one before? Did some maker use these or is it a custom thing?
Thanks for looking!

Lots of really nice 1903 sporters out there in a variety of calibers. Be careful though...that's a real rabbit hole.
Just ask my .270...and my 250 Savage...and my 35 Whelen...and my 7mm....
The taped grenade was also used to prevent an accidental kaboom when crawling around on the ground. If something snagged the pin, it was a little extra security.
Audie Murphy talks about this in...
I don’t mean this as commentary on your opinions and it’s 100% a compliment so please receive it as such...
Your writing style in this post sounds like the narration from a hard boiled detective...
Really cool idea! I’ll have to file that one away in the memory bank.
I don’t have any basis for this but I feel like Skip Shafer may be the photographer for the modeling agency.
That probably doesn’t really help but there it is.
Someone posted one here a while back that had been made into a lamp. Including internal threading for the lamp hardware.
Happy to help!
I did the exact same thing. I’ll give it another shot too.
I love this!
My drafting/manufacturing background makes me see this as art.
Very cool!
I’ve seen a couple videos on relining a 22. It looks, probably, deceptively simple. I’d give it a shot!
