Gab, That's really a great find. Yes the safety is wrong so you should sell me the rifle. (Just kidding!!) Are you going to return it to military configuration? It would really be worth the effort considering you have a correct action, bolt and scope mount. Those are the hard to find parts. You would need a set of the military 3/4" rings. The remaining parts are pretty easy to find (barrel, stock). Salt Flat

WOW I am jealous, its worth a 1000.00 just like it is!
I would definitely restore it, it would not be hard to do!!!!!

Restore it to original state, I'd be scrounging ebay for all it's worth. BTW, the search string is 1903A3 Remington. I'd also check out Numrich Gun Parts too.

Nice find, for sure! Finding an original A4 barrel to replace the chopped one would be a real trick, but you made out like a bandit. Definitely restore it.
I've seen what appear to be NOS A3 barrels without the front sight installed, and parked in that area. I'd look for one of those first. It will always be a "parts gun", so...who cares if the barrel is not an original A4. Can't remember seeing an original A4 barrel on the loose.

I havent done anything with it yet. I want to get it back to GI. I just got an old drill rifle this week for 50 bucks, and ive been working getting the bolt out. The barrel on it is a two grove GI barrel. I am going to take the sights off this weeked. I have a a3 stock and about 400 handguards to choose from. I want to see how the cutout is done for the bolt. I have read that the early ones were cut by hand. I just want to see it before I try it.
