    Bayonet lug mount

Dose anyone know if a picatiny rail mount is made to go on the bayonet lug on AK's? I know they make one for AR's, about an inch long, that mounts to the lug with a set screw. I'm looking for the same thing for my AK to put the laser in line with the bore.

No idea, but I once used one of those trigger guard clamping generic fit lasers (it was given to me) on the bayo lug of an Indian 2A SMLE. Just used longer screws. Wondering if you could do the same but using the front sight block. It would probably then need an AK74 type muzzle brake to minimize the fwd protrusion. Might be a cheap way to experiment anyways w/ labot involved.

Haven't really found a real use for 'em yet unless going full blown mil-spec equipment. Fun to play w/ ,though.

I'm trying to get something I can get on target a little faster with. Cyots around here run faster than we can shoot. We have small fields and 6 or 8 will come out, but cant get more than two before they hit the woodline

Ach, so! Can you fabricate a sort of "double loop" clamp either from thck sheet metal or even Micarta or some such? Friend of mine did that for varmint control years back and it worked well. Doesn't have to be pretty or anything. If only a few shots at a time, hardwood should do OK.

I found a universal mount by NCstar that clamps around the barrel. but I've always heard not to use them cause they mess up the harmonics. Any truth to it?

Get an Ultimak gas tube mount rail and a mini red dot sight like an Aimpoint Micro to go on it.

It'll work much better than chasing a laser dot around.

True enough, but the laser option can be made to work well enough for 'yote busting for $20 total or so if you get creative.

Got it to work. I found an old mount that came with a Rugger 22/45 I got about a year ago. It,s just a 3 inch rail with screw holes. So I atached it to the bottom of the plastic front hand guard and put a laser to it. It works great for yoties.
