Thoughts on 9mm bullets in..
.38Spl /.357Mag??
Have some 147gr 9mm, thinking of making .38 Spl loads using them for practice to leave the carry ammo for desire purpose.
Will resize in standard .38Spl sizer and try the bullet fit. If needed, try sizing in 9mm Sizer (use spacer to limit travel) the expand using the 9mm?
No cannalure on bullet, try doing a crimp???
Advise.
Thanks for responses.
Accuracy will be less that proper ammo, but just want to get reloads using a close enough weight to carry ammo. (140gr XTP is .38Spl & .357)

Do I need to say caveat emptor?

The bullet is nominally .355 rather than .357. It will work, and yes potential accuracy will be less, but it may bump up from the pressure of firing. If so, accuracy may not be so badly impaired. Try a taper crimp. That way you will not need to be concerned with the location or lack of a crimping groove. For .38Spl/.357Mag. practice loads, you might want to try a good hard cast lead bullet. Sized properly these can be loaded to equal any factory load available. Accuracy would be at least as good as adapting 9mm bullets. HTH. Sincerely. BruceV.

I've loaded 9mm bullets in .357 cases for years. Never a problem and accuracy was good. Fired them in a 3 screw Ruger SA with a .357 bore.

I have also loaded .357 projos in 9mm with light loads. Not recommending you do, just stating a fact.

I've done it myself, but wouldn't bother to repeat the experiment. My accuracy wasn't acceptable.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
