Tell me about that 150 gr Hornady.....
Ammo that Fulton armory sells on their web site is it designed to shoot out of a Garand
without having to use an adjustable gas plug what can you tell me about this stuff I'm looking for a hunting cartridge and this stuff looks good if it's designed for the Garand.
Regards

Check the information, but Hornady is producing .30-06 match quality ammunition compatible with the M-1 Garand
. From what I've read, it is very good ammunition. The CMP
is using it in matches. Sincerely. BruceV.

The 150 grain SST's will do nicely for hunting deer. MV is considerably higher than M2 ball ammo though. 3100 fps. Mind you, the rifle was designed to use .30 M1
ammo, not .30 M2 ammo.
The 165's(right at war time M2 152 grain Ball MV) for hunting any game in North America. So will any other like bullet weight ammo though.
Never had any issues with any ammo out of my rifle.

the M1 can safely shoot ANY bullet from 125-200+ grains
there is nothing particularly magical about 150 grains except that is what M2 BALL ammo is. In WW2 most ammuntion used was 160 grains AP.

That photo of the American Rifleman article on Reloading for the M1
is nice to see. I thought I was the only guy around that remembered or used that article. And the data was especially helpful years ago when I got my "Blue Sky" M1 Rifle reimported from Korea.
