    Question for BrianQ.

Just received a 6,970,XXX Inland from CMPicon that has a type II barrel with a P stamped in front of the bayoned lug that has no makers name or date stamped behind the front sight. The barrel has a regular ringed finish and both barrel and receiver are in 95% original parked condition. My question is, have you or the Carbine Club ever had one like this one reported ? All other parts are Inland,( some M2 ) with FLAT bottom M2 stock. Less than a 1 on me CMP guage, round bolt, M2 trigger housing-no M2 hammer, M2 slide. R stamped front sight. ??? TIA for any help you can give me. Bob.

To answer your question, yes similar Inland carbines have been reported. Check the top of the barrel just forward of the receiver (over the chamber) for the letters I BR. I'll bet they are there. If so you might want to e-mail Newscotlander with the particulars of the carbine.

The R stamped front sight is correct. Made by Rudy Furnace. They took over for Neidner in the fall of 1944.

Brian, I didn't see it when I made out the data sheet, but yes, it's stamped I BR. The R is weak ( looks more like a P ) but it's there. Thanks, Bob.
